So here is a list of food/drinks that you HAVE TO AVOID while you are pregnant.
Foods To Avoid During Pregnancy
Fish with mercury: Brain damage and development delays are linked with mercury consumed during pregnancy. Therefore, fish that contains high level of mercury like shark, tile-fish, king mackerel and swordfish should be avoided when it comes to food to avoid during pregnancy.
Deli meat: Listeria which has the ability to cross the placenta and affect your baby is a contamination present in deli meats.
Smoked seafood: Refrigerated Smoked seafood labelled as nova style, kippered, lox should be among the foods to avoid during pregnancy as it contaminated with listeria.
Raw shellfish: Under cooked shellfish like clams, oysters and mussels are one of the primary reasons for seafood-borne illness. Therefore they should be avoided during pregnancy.
Raw eggs: Raw eggs or any food like homemade ice cream, custards, homemade ceasar or Hollandaise sauces might contain raw eggs, so therefore they should be avoided because they exposes you to salmonella. And Salmonella during pregnancy could be extremely dangerous.
Soft cheeses: Imported soft cheese like Gorgonzola, Camembert, Roquefort, feta or brie may contain listeria, therefore should be avoided.

Raw sprouts: Do not eat raw sprouts including radish, broccoli, sunflower, onion, clover, alfalfa, mung bean, soybean, and snowpea sprouts. They might contain virus such as listeria which is dangerous for pregnant women. Therefore they are added under the category what not to eat when pregnant.

Restaurant Made Salads: You should not eat restaurant made salads such as Caesar salad dressing, pre-made meats, etc. as they have a high chance of containing microbes which could be dangerous for your pregnancy. The raw eggs used in salads might lead to food poisoning which will directly affect the health of your baby. Therefore, they have to come under the category of what not to eat when pregnant.
Herbal teas and supplements: Herbs used for seasonings, tea, or as supplements could harm both the mother and fetus. Certain herbs such as yohimbe, black and blue cohosh, ephedra, angelica, kava kava, dong quai, mugwort, borage oil, pennyroyal, are uterine stimulants, which should be completely avoided during pregnancy.
echinacea, goldenseal, horsetail, licorice root, Comfrey, black walnut, cascara sagrada, fenugreek, saw palmetto, senna, shepherd’s purse, wormwood, tansy, motherwort, St.John’s wort, and uva ursi may lead to miscarriage, therefore they are under what not to eat when pregnant.
Canned foods: Canned foods that including fruits, vegetables, and sodas are dangerous foods to have during pregnancy because they might contain Bisphenol A (BPA), a toxic substance that affects the fetal endocrine activity.
Nitrate-rich foods: Nitrate comes under foods to be avoided during pregnancy. Therefore foods that contain nitrate such as deli meats, sausages, cured sandwich meats, bacon, salami, and hot dogs should not be taken when you are pregnant.
Sugar rich foods: Cutting down on your sugar intake is very important thing that you should do when you are pregnant. Foods such as desserts, cakes, ice cream, etc. increases pregnancy discomforts such as vomiting, constipation, etc.
Street Foods: Some street foods are full of microbes and others might contain dangerous salmonella or listeria virus. Therefore they should come under what not to eat when pregnant.
Drinks to avoid during pregnancy
Unpasteurized Milk: Unpasteurized milk may contain listeria.
Caffeine: Though moderate caffeine intake is permissible, but some studies reveal that caffeine intake leads to miscarriage. Therefore, if you do not intake even a small amount of caffeine, you and your child will be on the safer side.
Alcohol: This is most important. YOU should NOT take even a small amount of alcohol during your pregnancy food and further, because you have to note that alcohol also reaches the baby during breastfeeding.
